MAGDA PATTERN (nee Jensen), beloved wife of the late Bill Pattern, passed away at West Highlands Good Samaritans in Lethbridge, Alberta on August 27, 2009 at the age of eighty-nine years. She is the loving mother of Linda (Barry) Horner of Lethbridge, AB. and Barbara (Glenn) Rampton of Bradford, Ont. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jennifer Horner (Paul Zabkar), Chris (Jasmine) Horner, Richard (Connie) Rampton, Marla (Jason) Maxey and Sherene Rampton and by seven great-grandchildren.
Mom was born to Mortine and Hans Christian Jensen on March 11, 1920 at Moosehorn, Manitoba. She grew up on the farm as one of seven brothers and sisters (Marie, Lars, Magda, Anne, Anton, Chris, Timmey) and enjoyed many summers at Lake Manitoba and Lake Winnipeg. Mom spoke Danish until she entered school and the school teacher lived with the family on their farm. At age eighteen, Mom went to work in Winnipeg where she met Dad. They were married in 1942 and enjoyed fifty-six years of marriage until Dad passed away. Playing cards, especially “Bridge”, baseball and bowling (when she was younger), were some of her favourite activities. She loved to knit, crochet and sew for all the grandchildren and lately was knitting “Blankets for Canada”. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed!
A Memorial Service will be held in BUCHANAN CHAPEL in SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011-4th Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to a reception at 20 Nevada Place, Lethbridge after the service.
