David Lynagh, of Lethbridge, passed away on December 8th 2022, at the age of 83 years.
David Lynagh, of Lethbridge, passed away on December 8th 2022, at the age of 83 years.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen; his sisters, Margaret (Sydney) Bleakley and Ann (Jerry) Wales; his brother Vincent (Ann) Lynagh and his three children: Ann (Yellowknife), Niall (Newmarket), Michael (Edmonton) and their families, including his six grandchildren.
David is predeceased by his parents and his brother Peter (Marie).
David was born on February 5, 1939 to Sylvester and Elizabeth in Banbridge, Northern Ireland.
In 1956, he met Eileen Preece and they married in Belfast Northern Ireland, 1962. They began their life together in Zambia, having two children there, then moving to Wildwood, AB in 1968. Finally, with three kids in tow, they settled in Lethbridge.
David had a long career in teaching in both the public and the separate school systems. He continued learning and received both his BFA (Lethbridge) and an MA in Religious Studies (Seattle). He finished his career as the Religious Education Consultant at the Lethbridge Catholic School Board.
David was a bit player on the stage at various pantomimes and community theatre plays. He was a regular for coffee with his friends and kept informed of world events. He was fortunate to have seen a lot of world and loved talking and writing about his adventures.
The family would like to the thank Dr Mona Cassis for years of good care, as well as the staff at: The View, Alberta Home Care, the Chinook Hospital and the Good Samaritan Lodge for their kindness and compassion over the last year.

A Funeral Mass will be held at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Derek Remus celebrating.

I'm very sad to hear of David's passing. He was a kind and fair teacher, inspiring me in the dramatic arts. More fun was David as swim parent to Ann, Niall and Michael. He is remembered with love.
