Lyle Bellew

I had come to know Lyle as he was a client at the student clinic at Lethbridge College. Lyle was a caring, generous and intelligent person. We will forever share some great memories over the years. I am grateful to have had the pleasure of our time together. I love you my friend.

Mr. Bellew was my favourite high school teacher. He treated all his students with respect and inspired them to be better-both in the class and out. It was a rare gift and I have always kept his example in mind during my years of teaching. I’m grateful to have been his student. He was one in a million.

Mr. Bellew was one of my favorite teachers because he demanded that I couldn’t rely on past efforts to succeed. He constantly pushed me to improve my writing organization and to properly display appropriate and relevant evidence of critical thinking. Even though it took years for some of those lessons to ‘kick in’, he ‘laid the foundation’ for me to take my schoolwork more seriously. (I even double-checked that I used the appropriate term ‘laid’ vs. the archaic term ‘layed’.) I saw him a few times after high school, but I wish I had told him how much he positively influenced me to improve and how grateful I was that he challenged me to do so. Rest in peace!

Mr. Bellew was my all-time favourite teacher. He taught us to love literature, and treated everyone with dignity and respect. His dedication did not go unnoticed.

So terribly sorry to hear of Lyle's passing. We had so many good times in our younger years, it is so sad that in the older years we lost contact. Good memories have always kept you close and will continue to keep you close, RIP my dear friend.

My deepest sympathies to the family. To Lyle Lyle crocodile, I'll miss our visits and our ice cream dates. Thanks for being an amazing part of my life and a dear friend.
