BERNICE ALICE LUCO succumbed in her sleep on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Edith Cavell Care Centre at the age of 91.
She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Elizabeth Beveridge, husband Michael James Luco, brother Jim Beveridge, sisters Grace Todd and Valerie Robertson.
She is survived by her sons James (Toni) of Lethbridge, Michael of Vancouver and two grandchildren Chris and Kevin. All of Bernice’s friends and relatives were very special to her.
She was a teacher and farmers wife for more than 60 years; and accomplished very much in her life, including raising 2 children.
Born and raised in Commerce, Alberta. She attended Normal school in Calgary. Bernice enjoyed life to the fullest; she enjoyed being a farmer’s wife and a substitute teacher. She enjoyed the trials and triumphs of raising two sons on the farm. She survived a stubble fire and later in life cancer only to succumb to a brief illness at the age of 91.
She will be remembered for her wonderful meals, money in her homemade birthday cakes, and punctuality not being one of her strong suits.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at ST. ANDREW’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 1818 - 5th Avenue South, Lethbridge on Friday, February 25th, 2011 at 2 P.M, with Rev. Hugh Jack officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.
