LOUIS SAKAL

LOUIS SAKAL, beloved husband of the late Annie Sakal, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Louis was born on August 10, 1921 in Dlha Luka, Slovakia to Steven and Mary. He immigrated to Canada in 1948. He met and married Ann in Saskatchewan, later moving to Taber, then Lethbridge where he resided until his passing. Louis served in the war in Europe of which he would speak of often. He worked as a gardener for the Lethbridge Brewery Gardens, later working for the City of Lethbridge until his retirement. Louis is survived by his daughter Mary (Richard) of Lethbridge, sons Les of Vancouver and Larry of Lethbridge, grandchildren Judy, Dawn, Richard Jr., Steven and Christopher, great-grandson Kurtis, sisters Margaret and Annie (Alex) and families, brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and families in Canada and Europe. Louis was predeceased by his parents, sons William and Louis Jr., sister Teresa and wife Annie. A Prayer Service will be held at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 - 13th Street North, Lethbridge on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Tim Boyle Celebrant. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. A Reception will be held at 1502 - 19th Avenue North, Lethbridge at 3:00 P.M.
