LOUIS DYKSLAG of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away peacefully with his loving wife Willy and children by his side at St. Michael's Health Centre, Palliative Care, on Monday, May 5, 2014 at the age of 69 years.
Louis was born in Epe, Netherlands to John and Marchien Dykslag on October 11, 1944. He immigrated to Canada in May of 1950 and married Willy (De Jager) on May 12, 1967.
A kind and generous man who deeply loved his children and grandchildren, Louis spent a lot of time camping and boating with his family. In his retirement years he and Willy travelled to many places with their dear friends. Louis was a hardworking man of many talents who dedicated himself to a variety of career endeavors.
He leaves to mourn his wife Willy of 47 years and his children and grandchildren including Annette (Peter) and their children Mackenzie, Jordan, Hannah Yunick; Jeff (Tracy) and their children Brooke and Tori Dykslag; Colleen Dykslag and her son Noah; and Louise Dykslag.
He also leaves to cherish his memory, brothers and sisters John (Hilda) Dykslag, Jerry (Eunice) Barthel, Nancy Bouwman, Audrey Dykslag, Betty Dykslag, Willy (Dennis) Coutts as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Louis was predeceased by his parents John and Marchien Dykslag, his siblings Betsy Barthel, Ed Dykslag, Henry Dykslag and Marion Kuperis and brothers-in-law Rudy Bouwman and Bill Kuperis.
A Private Family Interment will be held prior to the Funeral Service at Royal View Cemetery.
A Funeral Service will be held at TRINITY REFORMED CHURCH, 1100 - 40th Avenue North, Lethbridge on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Wybren Oord officiating.
