Lonsdale, Lola

It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, aunt, great aunt, grandma & best friend LOLA MARLENE LONSDALE (nee Queener). She passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on the morning of February 22, 2016 with her devoted, loving daughter Diana and grandson Trevor (Amber) Panczak by her side.

Lola is predeceased by her parents Loren and Ethel (Wilcox) Queener, her sisters & brothers-in-law Lorraine and Len Candy & Art and Reta Beaton as well as her sons-in-law Jim Green & Johnny Panczak & grandson Richard Panczak. Lola is survived by her daughter Diana Green (Kanigan) grandson Russell (Angie) Panczak, Trevor (Amber) Panczak, along with numerous friends, cousins, nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, her special grand-daughter Carol Beluch, as well as her beloved dog, Hardley.

Lola grew up on the Queener farm south of New Dayton, Alberta in Middle Coulee. Her younger years with her sisters, were filled with the typical farm life of work & school with the occasional trips into town on a Saturday night for ice cream and a show. Lola had a wonderful sense of humour and known to be a bit of a prankster. She was also an avid outdoorswoman. She loved her independence in her adult years after leaving Warner. Lola loved to travel in her motorhome to various campgrounds, fishing holes or to visit friends and family all over Alberta. She enjoyed the solitude and thrills of fishing and canning and feasting on her catches.

Lola also enjoyed music. Her love of music helped shape the career of her grandson Trevor who was the apple of her eye. They attended many a local jam together and Trevor credits Lola as one of the major reasons he developed into the singer he is today. Lola and Diana shared a special mother/daughter bond. They shared a home for over 35 years and were best friends.

Although there will be no service held at Lola's request, we will, and encourage you, to celebrate her life & cherish the memories she so lovingly gave us.

Cremation entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home.
