MR. CLARENCE LONG TIME SQUIRREL, companion of Lorna Bird, passed away at home, on Friday, February 5, 2010, at the age of 54 years.

Besides his companion, Clarence is survived by brothers; Darius (Pearl), William (Mary), Thomas; sister Bonita (Edward Red Crow) and grandson Halen Many Fingers, as well as Uncles; George Plain Women, Gordon Plain Women, Ernest Hunt, Martin Hairy Bull, Aunties Rachel Hoof, Annie Davis and Evangeline Wolf Child as well as family relatives; Wells, Many Grey Horses, Hoofs, Wolf Childs, Hairy Bulls and Davis’s.

Clarence was predeceased by his daughter Lisa Maria, parents Tom and Nellie Long Time Squirrel, brothers Conrad and Marlin; sisters Deanna, Theresa, Mary, Sylvia and Blondine.

In his younger days, Clarence used to go skating with his brother, played basketball with Brother’s For Lethbridge Friendship Centre, played sports and competed against his nephews, neighbours and brothers and sisters. He was also a chicken dancer and played baseball for the Fort Whoop Up Rattlesnakes as a back catcher.

Clarence was raised by his grandparents, George Long Time Squirrel, Sr. and Minnie and Preston Day Chief and Sandra Shade. He did a lot of traveling in the States with them. Clarence was always at home helping his grandparents with the cattle, horses and branding and doing field and farm work all over Southern Alberta. His main responsibility was taking care of his grandfather.

Clarence was educated at St. Mary’s in Lethbridge. Clarence was a loving, energetic, humble man who was always there for his family and friends; he was a good spirited person.

A Family Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 4:00 PM.

A Wake Service will be held at the WHITE CALF CHAPEL, on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 7:00 to 11:00 P.M., with Pastor Rocky Brave Rock officiating.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. MARY’S IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., with Father Pawel Andrasz O.M.I., Celebrant.
Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
