BILL LOCKETT, a compassionate and honourable man, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the age of 66 years, with his beloved family by his side.

Bill was born in Victoria, BC and raised in Invermere, BC. His journey led him to Alberta, where he pursued a career in Broadcast Engineering at SAIT in 1976. His dedication to his craft brought him to Lethbridge in 1978, where he became an integral part of the broadcasting community. For 34 years, Bill lent his skills to 1090 CHEC Radio and later to CISA-DT, now Global Lethbridge.

Bill is predeceased by his father, David Lockett; and mother, Jean Lockett. He is survived by his loving wife, Susana; and three children: Monica (Joe) of Lethbridge, Ryan and Adrian both of Calgary. As well, his sister, Terry Lockett (Lou) of Vancouver; sister, Tracy Lockett of Vancouver; and brother, David (Pamela) Lockett of Calgary; and his nieces: Natasha, Kaitlin, Mackenzie, Meagan and Delainey. Not to be forgotten is his faithful dog, Lady, who became an inseparable part of his life nearly two years ago.

Known for his remarkable ability to fix things and his generous nature, Bill touched the lives of many. He will be forever remembered for his kindness to others and his passion for travel, particularly to Mazatl?n, Mexico, where he met Susy, the love of his life.

During this time, expressions of sympathy and remembrance may be shared in any way that feels meaningful. Bill's legacy of compassion, thoughtfulness, and his unique blend of humor will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Bill will be held at a later date.

I am still in a state of shock learning of Bill. I am so very sorry to hear of his passing. The Bill I knew was passionate, hard working and gave it his all in any project that come his way. I knew Bill from working at Global TV in Calgary and was his manager starting in 2007. Bill filled my boots with stories of his wild youth too. Even though he was taken from you all way too young, he definitely lived life to the fullest. I can remember a time he skipped out on a physio appointment (Bill was on crutches at the time) to visit us at the transmitter site to see how the new install was coming along. He would laugh it off when I gave him heck on missing physio. There was no changing his mind once it was set. My heart goes out to the entire Lockett family.

With love to Susie, Monica, Adrian, and Ryan; Cindy and I are heartbroken with the news of Bill's passing. We did not see him often in our adult years, but we know well of his great love for you and the pride he held for his family. Jean would always tell us about the family escapades, she was very proud of her eldest son and his family. I remember Billy as almost my older brother from when the family lived in Golden, that was a few a few years before the Lockett's moved to Invermere. Billy, Terry, and I were a great team way back then (you know why our mothers had white hair). We seldom saw each other as we moved into adulthood; everyone went their own way, but there was always the warmth of family within us when we did get together. Bill(y) is a very big part of all my favorite childhood memories, and I am so grateful we had him. Susie, Monica, Adrian, and Ryan, we send you our love, we are family.

We are saddened to learn of Bill's passing. We have many fond memories of Bill's younger years growing up in Invermere. Our thoughts go out to Susana, Monica, Joe, Ryan, Adrian and Bill's entire extended family at this very sad and difficult time.

DAVID AND SALMA BERGEN AND FAMILY, May 24, 2023

So sorry to hear of your loss Susie, Monica, Adrian and Ryan. I want you to know that it was a privilege to have worked with Bill/your Dad. He was always asking what needed to be done around the station, and as you already know, had an amazing ability to fix most anything. He took great pride and responsibility in his work and in ensuring that everything in the station was working properly. He was kind, considerate, and just a pleasure to work with, and he had this amazing ability to not let himself be affected by the negativity of others. He asked me for a reference letter when his tenure at the TV station came to an end, and I was honoured to give him one of the highest recommendations I gave to former employees: "If Bill is in your office applying for a job, HIRE HIM!" He was an exceptional person. I know there are no words to ease your pain and sorrow at this time, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Regards, PJ
