BOAZ OBADIAH LITTLE SHIELDS, "NATOAPAINSKII", of Calgary and formerly of Lethbridge, beloved companion of Shaila, and father to Drayson, passed away suddenly in Calgary, on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the age of 23 years.
Boaz began his life in 1997 in South Lethbridge, in his parents' apartment bathtub. Boaz became a big brother for the first time in 1999 when Iscah was born and was thrilled when each new sibling entered his life. He was just as thrilled when he became and uncle and godfather to Tenika in 2007. As he grew, he learned and matured, gaining a family of his own with Shaila Brasette and Drayson. Boaz was a talented metal fabricator, making beautifully ornate gifts out of metal for his loved ones. He had a good relationship with Rob at Alberta Standard Metal Industries. Good times were had by Boaz and Jeramy Chadney and others on many outdoor campouts in all kinds of weather.
Boaz lived his life very full of adventure. He took every opportunity to hiking or camping, and he used to steal away to the hills to ride his bike and be alone. Boaz held up well to the meaning of his name; Boaz = In Him is Strength. Obadiah = Jehovah is Lord. Boaz never failed to lend a hand in any job, which gave him great fulfillment. Everyone loved his beautiful self along with his smile and warmth. His baby sister Azriel maintained the deepest love for her big brother and he would stop at nothing to be available, protective, and around, which applied to all his friends and family.
Boaz touched the lives of all who met him. His big heart and bright dimpled smile will be greatly missed.
Boaz is survived by his mother Rita Hill, sisters Etoile Hill, Mesha, Iscah and Kinza Little Shields, and Azriel Calahaison; brothers Job and Philemon Little Shields; niece and godchild Tenika Akau; grandma Marian Proc; grandpa Wayne Hill; uncles John Hill and Bill Carty; aunts Virginia Carty, Saraphine Black, and Melanie Red Crow; cousins Derrek and Matthew Carty, Heather and Therin Black, and his best friends, Jeramy Chadney and Dwayne Goforth.
He is predeceased by his father, Eddie Little Shields Jr., an unnamed child, and grandfather Jim Proc.
A Visitation will be held in Calgary on Monday, March 8, 2021, from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. For further details, please contact Cornerstone Funeral Home at 403-381-7777, or by email at care@cornerstonefh.ca.
