MR. ALVIN A. LITKE, beloved husband of Mrs. Maryanna Litke, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 25th, 2011 at the age of 79 years. Besides his loving wife Maryanna, Alvin is lovingly remembered by his son Bob (Lynn) Spilchuk of Vernon, BC and Maryanna’s family; Darcy (Eileen) Gukert of Calgary, Cheryl (Tom) Klassen of Lethbridge, Allen Gukert of Red Deer, numerous grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by one sister Esther Foster of Pahrump, Nevada and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters. Alvin was born February 10, 1932 in Brokenhead, Manitoba. He went to school in Beausejour, and was later employed in Winnipeg as a manufacturer of blowers at Northern Blower. Alvin loved to collect trinkets, including small tractors, cars and birds. He thoroughly enjoyed dogs, having many of them over the years including a coyote cross. Alvin had a great sense of humour and thought he was rarely wrong. He enjoyed a good game of cards, especially Wizard. Alvin had a strong desire to socialize and be an outgoing person but was unable to, due to declining health, over the past few years. He will be fondly remembered. A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jason Anderson, officiating.
