On Monday, February 23, 2015 VERA INEZ WHEELDON (NEE TRATHEN) passed away peacefully at the age of 92. She is survived by her son Darryl, daughters Dorothy (Barry), Barb (John), daughter-in-law Pauline, grandchildren Brenna (Scott), Jim (Tanya), Sean, Jillian (Rob), Kerri (Fran), Kaitlin, Emily (Jesse), Casey, great-grandchildren Chloyee, Riley, Kael, Seth, Duncan and Analyse. Vera was predeceased by her husband Robin, son Ross and daughter-in-law Kathy. She was the last of her family, having been predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son ALDWIN WHITE QUILLS (JR.) on Monday February 4, 2008. Junior as he was usually called, passed away at home on the Blood Indian Reserve in the morning hours with the rising of the new Sun at the age of 24 years old. Junior was born on January 27, 1984 at the Cardston Municipal Hospital.

JAMES BRIAN (WHITEY) WHITE, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Edith Cavell Care Centre, on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the age of 78 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Annie; his siblings, Mollie, Peggy, Betty, Billie and John. He will be missed by his niece, Maureen King (Nina) who cared for him for many years and his remaining siblings, Eileen, Kathleen and Joan. He will also be missed by his niece Ang, who along with his sister Joan, gave so much of their time and loving care during his last years.

KENT J. WHITNEY, beloved son of Shirley Whitney, of Lethbridge, passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the age of 42 years. Besides his loving mother, he is survived by his brothers Carlin (Lori) Whitney of Lethbridge and Darren (Bonnie) Whitney of Calgary, nieces Kate and Samantha of Calgary, grandmother Anna Kambeitz of Lethbridge as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Murray.

WICKEND, KENNETH LARRY

KENNETH LARRY WICKEND, passed away suddenly of natural causes on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the age of 60 years. Ken started his life with a little bit of fanfare - he was the New Year’s Baby of 1952. He continued his life as the middle of three - an older brother and younger sister. During his school years Ken played saxophone in the school band, as well as in the Kiwanis Band.

MRS. MARY ALICE WICKEND, beloved wife of the late Gordon Wickend, passed away on Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Alice was born to Leone and Harry Haney on April 22, 1922 near Cut Bank, Montana, relocating to the Picture Butte area in 1926. She was raised on the family farm east of Picture Butte. At the age of fifteen she attended Olds Agricultural College where she completed her high school education over the next two years.

MR. GEORGE EDWIN WICKHAM of Lethbridge (formerly Edmonton) passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the age of 85 years. He is the loving father of Tim (Julaine) of Redcliff, Dennis (Marie) of Lethbridge, and grandfather to; Trevor (Gail) of Red Deer, Lorinda of Lethbridge, Stephanie and Brenna of Lethbridge. He is also survived by the mother of his two grown children, Grace Wickham, three brothers and three sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

It is with immeasurable sadness that the family of Helen Wieland announces her passing on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Helen was born in Coaldale on February 8, 1930. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Martin and son Edward; brothers’ Frank, Les, Julius, and John Lengyel; and sister Elizabeth (Alex) Kish. Helen is survived by her loving children, Leslie (Laurie) Wieland of Iron Springs, Brian (Brenda) of Lethbridge, Gloria Wieland of Vancouver, and Debbie (Brent) Dustin of Port McNeill, BC.

Ida is survived by her brothers David (Jeannette) of Medicine Hat and Reinard (Hilda) Kohls of Surrey, B.C. sister Freeda Cosenza of Lafayette, California, brother-in-law Harry Wiens of Penticton, B.C., sister-in-law Alice Spreeman of Olds, AB as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
