EUGENE WELTERLICH, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Inge Welterlich, passed away peacefully at the St. Michael's Health Centre on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the age of 87 years. Born September 15, 1929 in Eigenfeld, Ukraine, Eugene immigrated to Canada in 1951, where he spent a year working on a farm in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He moved to Lethbridge in 1952, where he met the love of his life, Inge, and the two were married in 1954.

Welzel, Lydia

LYDIA ELFRIEDA WELZEL passed away on March 9, 2017. Lydia was born in Germany on May 20, 1927 and was the oldest of eight children. On March 22, 1952 Lydia married Bernfried Welzel and in the fall of 1955, they moved to Coaldale with their young daughter. Their twins, a son and daughter, followed later that year. In 1967, the family moved to Lethbridge. Lydia enjoyed gardening, playing board and dice games, but reading was her greatest passion.

WENDELL ALEXANDER JONES, beloved husband of the late Ethel Jones passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, April 03, 2009 at the age of 93 years. Wendell was the loving father of Gary (Laine) Jones of Calgary AB and Wendy (Ross) Charlesworth of High River AB. He was a devoted grandfather to Sarah and Michael Jones, Joel Charlesworth and Jamie (Derek) Chamberlain, and a caring great grandfather to Jasmine Charlesworth and Eddie Chamberlain.

LAURA WENSMANN, beloved wife of Perry Wensmann, of Milk River, passed away peacefully at the Edith Cavell Care Centre, on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the age of 49 years. Besides her loving husband she is survived by one son Randy (Klaudia) Wensmann, of Lethbridge, and one grandson Jakub. She is also survived by parents Caroline and Robert Stern, of Lethbridge, one sister Victoria Calder, of Lethbridge, two nephews Robert (Judy) and Daniel Calder, and one special great niece Destiny.

WERNER KARL LAUERSDORF passed away after a short battle with cancer at St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre, on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the age of 78 years with his loving family by his side. He leaves behind his wife Traute of 56 years, and his daughter Susanne (Karl) Mueller. Werner is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Christopher (Jennifer) Mueller and their son Sebastian, Mark (Devonee) Mueller, Martina (Collin) Clark and their daughters Anna, Trinity, Taytum, and Torey.

PHYLLIS CATHERINE WERNICK (nee Oborne) best friend and wife of Leslie Wernick, passed away quietly on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the age of 96 years. Phyllis was born, November 29, 1915 to Walter and Minnie Oborne, raised and educated in Lethbridge along with her three sisters Joan Murfin, Jean May and Hazel Leys. Phyllis obtained her teaching certificate from Normal College in 1939. She was the first teacher in Lethbridge to receive her Bachelor of Education Degree in 1950.

Beside his loving wife Mary, he is survived by his children; Margaret (Ron) King of Bon Accord, AB, Maureen (Jim) Stegen of Lethbridge, Paddy (Gary) Taje of Blairmore, AB, and Kevin (Karen) Wesko of Lethbridge, grandchildren; Erin (Paul) Coupland, Elizabeth (Jeff) Bettger, Jon (Michelle) Stegen, Erik and Sean Taje, Sydney and Blair Wesko, great grandchildren; Maddie and Sophie Coupland, Kate Stegen and Marley, Jayne and Quinn Bettger as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family of Wesley Jasiukiewicz announce, with sadness, his passing at St. Michael’s Care Centre on Monday, December 24, 2012. Wesley immigrated to Canada after the war having served in the Polish Army. He took employment at Reservoir Farms in Raymond where he remained for most of his working years. He loved the outdoors and in his younger years enjoyed trapping, fishing and hunting. His greatest love of all was his family.
