Obituary: V

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mom, PAULINE "POLLY" JEANETTE VENECHUK (nee PAVKA), on June 12, 2016, at the age of 92 years. Polly was born in Czechoslovakia on February 6, 1924 and immigrated with her family to Canada when she was two years old. She married John Venechuk in 1948 and was blessed with three children, Rose Ann, Bev and Don. Polly is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Cindy, Tony, Elaina and Blake; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Avery, Ava and Arianna; her sister Mildred (Ray) Bagozzi and brothers, Frank (Mary Ann) Pavka and Laddie (Anne) Pavka, as well as many nieces and nephews.

KEN VAN ESVELD, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 at the age of 55 years. He is survived by his son Jeremy Van Esveld, of Calgary, as well as his father Gerald Van Esveld and his two sisters, Willetta (Andy) Oudman and Joanne (Henk) Van Roekel, all of Lethbridge, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ken is also remembered by his girlfriend Patty Zielke.

Joseph (Joe) VanderBeek husband of Frances Graham VanderBeek passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the age of 79. Joe is survived by his wife of 56 years Frances VanderBeek , children Tim VanderBeek of Lethbridge and Gail (Rod) Schultz of Lethbridge as well as his two dearly loved granddaughters Sarah Schultz and Alyssa Schultz, both of Lethbridge. Joe is also survived by his brother Tony (Ann) VanderBeek of Lethbridge and his sisters Nolda Smeding of Lethbridge, Joan (John) Antonides of Penticton and Nettie (Lloyd) Westra of Edmonton.

ANTHONY "TONY" VOORT was peacefully reunited with his "sweetie", the late Sharon Ann Voort (nee Stotyn), on April 13, 2016, surrounded by the love of his three children: Nancy Metz (nee Voort), Kathy Voort (Keith) and David Voort. Besides his three children, Tony is lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren: Tannon Calderwood, Sera Voort-Weisgerber and Skyla Metz, who he loved to spend time with, finding interest in what they each enjoyed, be it the love of dance, science, camping, or just spending time telling his stories.

CORNELIS "CASEY" VERSCHOOR, passed away at home suddenly, on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Born, raised and educated in Holland, Case immigrated to Canada with his family in 1952. He farmed in Rainier from 1959 to 1989, when he retired to Lethbridge. Case is survived by one brother, John (Edna) Verschoor and five sisters, Anne Nyenhuis, Janny Kalf, Betty Groenenboom, Cobie (Arie) Den Hollander and Nel (John) Van Es as well as many of his siblings' children and grandchildren, who all knew him as Uncle Case.

JOHN WILLIAM VOS, beloved husband of the late Berna Vos, of Lethbridge, passed away on February 18, 2016 at the age of 81 years surrounded by the love of his family. John was born in Stadskanaal, Netherlands on April 6, 1934 and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1948, residing in the Nobleford area. Those close to John knew of his love for cooking and although he pursued many career paths in his life, John's heart remained in the kitchen.

RONALD JO VANEE, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Le-Anna Currie, passed away at the St. Michael's Health Centre - Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the age of 56 years. His greatest joy were his children: sons Jonas of Lethbridge, Justin of Fort Macleod, and daughter Jordyn of Lethbridge. Also left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Verna (Ken) Greidanus, Joyce (Ron) Sakamoto and Bonnie (Mike) Jarokosky and their families.

ARDIS NANETTE VAILE-BELGARDE, beloved mother of Joseph, Tyrell and Jeffrey and daughter of Elsie, passed away in Lethbridge on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the age of 52. Ardis was born February 26, 1963 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada and spent most of her life on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana. She attended schools in Coalstrip, Montana and Brigham City, Utah, eventually graduating from Browning High School. She also attended Lethbridge College and the College of Great Falls.

VANEE "Look unto me and be you saved All the ends of the earth For I am God and there is no one else" Isaiah 45:22 "To Him be all the glory" MRS. ANNEKE (ANNE) VANEE passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the age of 80 years. Anne was born in Sleeuwijk Netherlands on September 16, 1934. She was the second child of nine children born to Bastiaan and Johanna Ouwerkerk.

ETHEL LILLIAN VAILLANCOURT, beloved wife of Wayne Vaillancourt of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the age of 70 years. Ethel is survived by Philbert Deschamps of Calgary, AB, Robert (Sharon) Deschamps of Lethbridge, AB, Sharon (Alex) Daka of Lethbridge, AB, Duane (Melanie) Vaillancourt of Lethbridge, AB, and Todd Vaillancourt of Ontario, Michelle Vaillancourt of Fort Macleod, AB. She is survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
