STEVE JOHN TAKACS, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the age of 84 years and will be sadly missed by his family. He is survived by his son Steve Takacs (Sylvia) of Port Coquitlam, BC; sister Ann Panes, nephew Stephen Panes, niece Kimberley Hanney (Andrew) and their children Madyson, Carsen and Lucas. Steve was born in Totszerdahely, Hungary, and immigrated to Canada with his mother in 1938 to join his father and become a Canadian citizen.

MR. JON LAWRENCE STEVENS, of Picture Butte, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the age of 71 years. Jon is survived by three sons; Vincent (Alison), John (Kim), Dennis (Heather) Five grandchildren; Zachary, Jarrett, Carter, Connor, Peyton Brother; Barney (Deb) and a Sister; Linda Sontag (Earl) Jon was predeceased by his parents, (Lawrence and Runa) and his wife of 39 years, Shirley, who passed away in December 2002.

MR. JOHN HAROLD (JACK) STEVENSON, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Stella Mae Stevenson of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the age of 89 years. Jack is survived by his son Larry (Roxy) Stevenson, his daughter Eileen (Cliff) Lennox, his adored grandchildren; Tim (Jenny) Lennox of Vancouver, B.C., Cory (Liz) Stevenson of Lethbridge and Dana Stevenson of Kelowna, B.C. He also leaves to mourn his nephews, nieces and special companion, Doreen Jurgens.

MR. STEWART ALDERSON WELLS, beloved husband of Mrs. Irene Wells, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, as he desired, on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the age of 93 years. He was born in Saskatoon on May 16, 1920 and raised in Senlac, SK. Upon graduating from High School, he attended the University of Saskatchewan where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Agriculture. Subsequently, he worked at the Research Station in Swift Current and then, in 1948, moved with his family to Lethbridge, where he worked at the Research Station.

JOHN RONALD STEWART, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Monday, August 27th, 2018, at the age of 69 years. Although John had a circle of friends, he led a very private life. Cremation will be held, with a private interment at a later date.

VERNON STEWART, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Bernice Stewart, passed away at the St. Michael's Palliative Care on Wednesday, March 11th, 2015 at the age of 89 years. Besides his loving wife of 66 years, he is survived by his children Eileen Stewart, Sandra (Ron) Jenkins ,Verna (Gordon) McKean and Allen (Donnie) Stewart grandchildren Vincent, Liala, Scott, Sean, David and great-grandchildren Jesse and Leo. Vernon is also survived by one sister and one brother.

CLIFFORD RAYMOND STICKEL, beloved husband of Marion Stickel passed away peacefully at the Milk River Health Centre on Sunday, June10, 2012, at the age of 89 years. Cliff is survived by his loving wife Marion, sons Brian (Gail), Brent (Elaine), and Jim (Peggie); grandchildren Chad, Kristi, Stephanie, and Sandi; great grandchildren Sydney, Logan and Cooper. He is also survived by brother Clarence (Anna); sisters Viona (Dugald), Irene, and Violet; sister-in-laws Frances, Gloria, and Emma; brother-in-law Larry and numerous nephews and nieces.

MRS. MARION STICKEL, of Milk River, beloved wife of the late Cliff Stickel, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, just two days shy of her 90th birthday. She is survived by her sons Brian (Gail), Brent (Elaine) and Jim (Peggie) as well as her grandchildren Chad (Jen), Kristi (Gary), Sandi (Lauren) and Stephanie and her great-grandchildren Sydney, Logan and Cooper. Mom was a kind and loving person.

ERNEST “ERNIE” GEORGE STINSON, beloved husband of Georgette Stinson of Lethbridge passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Monday, May 9th, 2011, after a valiant effort for life. Ernie and Georgette recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. He is survived by two daughters, Kim (Tony Laturnus) and Kris Stinson (Neil Parisien); four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, Field of Honour on Saturday, May 14th, 2011 at 11:00 A.

Stirling, Alexander Valentine

Storyteller, Craftsman & Patriarch ALEXANDER VALENTINE STIRLING, one of the last coopers in Canada, died on November 5th, 2014 at St. Michael's Health Centre - Palliative Care Unit in Lethbridge, at the age of 77 years. Alex was raised in Perth, Scotland, where he completed his cooper's apprenticeship at Mathew Gloag's and then worked for Dewar's Distillery. In 1971 he immigrated to Canada and shortly thereafter he began to work for Palliser Distilleries in Lethbridge, Alberta, where he stayed until his retirement in 1999.
