On March 23, 2010 at the age of 84, John (Jan Sipkie) Nieuwenhuis went to be with his Lord after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was the beloved husband to Ann (Antje Bouwman) Nieuwenhuis for 54 years, survived by Ann, his children Julie and Hank DeJager, Sid and Margaret Nieuwenhuis, Lambert and Deborah Nieuwenhuis, Ed and Brenda Nieuwenhuis, Betty and Evert Van de Pol, Dave and Sharon Nieuwenhuis, Mary-Ann and Henk-John Kuipers, 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3-16. MR. STAN NIEUWENHUIS, beloved husband of Mrs. Hendrica Nieuwenhuis, passed away on June 20, 2012 at the age of 88 years. Born in Holland (Friesland) he married Hendrica in 1950. They came to Canada in 1952 and resided in Lethbridge ever since. Beside his loving wife of 61 years, Stan is survived by three sons, Sam from Coaldale, John from Lethbridge, Henry (Juliet) from Lethbridge and one daughter Nellie from Coalhurst.

It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to NILA ROSEMOND OLSON. Nila passed away on Monday, February 18, 2008 after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. Nila was born on March 5, 1937 in Lethbridge, raised in Warner and spent her working years at various locations in the U.S.A. Nila was a dynamic, headstrong spirit with a great flair for life itself. Her love of animals and concern for animal welfare carried her on throughout her life.

MR. WATARU “WALTER” NISHIDA, beloved husband of the late Miyoko “Miyo” Nishida of Lethbridge, passed away with his family at his side at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, August 30, 2010 at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his children; Paul of Lethbridge, Terry (Teresa) of Chilliwack, B.C., Michael of Nanton, Maureen of Lethbridge and his grandchildren; Logan and Lauren of Chilliwack, B.C. He is also survived by his brother Eddy Nishida of Lethbridge and sisters Marion Nelson of Edmonton and Katie Kamitomo of Raymond.

RICHARD SUNAO NISHIJIMA passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care on Friday, December 24, 2010 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his daughter Liz (Richard) Chiste and their son Colby of Lethbridge, mother Shizue Yamagishi of Lethbridge, siblings; Mary (Toji) Fujii of Windsor, ON, Bill (Jane) Nishijima of Toronto, ON, Kiyo (Toki) of Lethbridge, Marj (Kaz) Tomomitsu of Lethbridge, Irene (Paul) Rohrer of Aldergrove, B.

MR. NOEL HICKEY, of Raymond, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Raymond Health Centre on Wednesday, June 18th, 2014 at the age of 82 years. A private family graveside service will be held at the SOUTH HAVEN CEMETERY, in Edmonton, Alberta at a later date.

NOREEN JOAN ROWLAND, passed away in Vulcan on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the age of 75 years. A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Elizabeth Brown officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

NORMA ELIZABETH GLOVER (nee Watt), beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Glover of Lethbridge passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the age of 89 years. She is the loving mother of Randy (Deane) Glover of Lethbridge and Larry Glover of Edmonton, previously Winnipeg. She is lovingly remembered by two grandchildren Lisa Fender (Ben Aylsworth) of Toronto and Troy Glover of Calgary and one great granddaughter Charlie Aylsworth.
