STELLA FRANCES (BROWN) MCKENNA passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 8, 2011, 3 days after her 92nd birthday. Stella is survived by her sons; Wayne of Calgary, Doug (Cheryl) of Hay River, NWT and Gary of Edmonton. Stella also leaves behind her sisters Della Verwoerd of Lethbridge and Vicky Allen of Kelowna, B.C., two granddaughters, sisters-in-law Blanche and Anne as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

EVA RUTH CHORNEY McKENZIE, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, September 30, 2013 at the age of 80 years. She was born and raised near Langbank, Saskatchewan and had six brothers and four sisters. She was the first in her family to graduate high school and went on to become a school teacher. Later she worked as Credit Manager at Western Canada Hardware, and Office Manager at Kingsway/Motorways Transport.

It is with great sadness that the family of MRS. JOAN McKENZIE, beloved wife of the late Dr. Hugh McKenzie, announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the age of 96 years. Joan is survived by her son, Ross (Deborah) McKenzie of Lethbridge, her daughters, Carol (Iain) Wilson of Edmonton and Carmen (George) Graham of Rainier and her eight grandchildren, Kyle McKenzie (Tara, and their children, Xander, Mannix and Milana), Colin McKenzie, Christina McKenzie, Andrew Wilson, Scott Wilson, Catherine Davies (Braidy, and their children, Sage and Wynn), Rob Graham and Erin Graham.

Phyllis recently completed 91 years fulfilling her treasured role as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves her family - son, Darrel (Pat) McKenzie; daughter, Lorelee (Stan) Marshall; son-in-law, Bill Watson; sister, Maisie Wiest; grandchildren, Kari, Scott, Jodi, Kelly, Kim (Ian), Morgan, Taylor and great grandchildren, Naviah and Kaden. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Leonard; daughter, Deb and grandson, Kory. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate a woman deeply loved and respected.

IRENE ISOBEL MCLACHLAN, passed away with her family at her side at the Milk River Health Center on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the age of 95 years. Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband Archie in 1979, her parents, James & Julia Edwards, sister, Bette, brother, George, niece, Julie, grandson, Todd Leigh, sisters-in-law Janet, Lillian & Pat, brothers-in-law Jim, Hugh and Andrew. She is survived by her son Gavin (Lynn) McLachlan of DeWinton, Alberta, two daughters, Sandra McLachlan of Calgary and Heather (Victor) Haddad of Milk River; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother-in-law Ian McLachlan of Red Deer; two sisters-in-law Mavis (Dick) Botter of Vancouver and Betty Ostby of Coutts.

Hugh McLafferty, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully, on Friday, November 18, 2011, at Lethbridge Regional Hospital, with his family at his side. His quiet courage was evident to all those who knew and loved him throughout his 92 years. Dad is survived by Marie, his wife of 65 years. The special bond they shared is something to be admired…they were forever a team! Their teamwork began in the Crowsnest Pass, where he worked for 18 years, in the Bellevue and Adnac coal mines, first as a miner and then eventually as a fire boss.

FRANK NEIL MCLAUGHLIN, beloved husband of the late Ina McLaughlin, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on January 18, 2011. Frank was born in Bass River, NS to Charles and Catherine (Cassie) McLaughlin on May 5, 1926. He began a career in the Canadian Army in 1944, serving with the Artillery and the Airborne regiments. While on a “sandbag line” during the 1950 Winnipeg Flood he met Ina Hawkins, who was at that time teaching in Winnipeg.

MRS. MARJORIE McLAUGHLIN of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, April 2, 2010 at the age of 94 years. Mom left us peacefully 10 days short of her 95th birthday. She was born in New Westminster, B.C. and was very athletic, enjoying hiking, swimming and skating. She loved Scottish dancing and won awards in Highland Dancing. Marjorie met James and they were married for 59 years. In 1938 they moved to Lethbridge where they raised 3 children.

He is survived by his son David (Dongryun) of Burnaby, B.C., daughters Gillian of Lethbridge and Karen of Calgary, siblings; Gail of Strathclair, MB, Shirley of Strathclair, MB, Margaret of Dauphin, MB, Harry of Strathclair, MB and Jim of Neepawa, MB as well as his Mine Rescue teammates and numerous “F” shift friends at Fording River Operations and his dog Mumby.
