MARIA SZABO, beloved wife of Peter Szabo Sr. of Lethbridge, passed away with her family by her side, at the Legacy Lodge in Lethbridge on Tuesday, March 19th, 2013 at the age of 84 years. She is the loving mother to Peter (Christina) and a very proud grandmother of Madeline, Gabriella, Elizabeth and John. Maria was predeceased by her parents Janos and Roszalia Hanusi, brother Joseph Hanusi and sister Anne Barcu.

MARIA VERA SMETANA (Polesenska), beloved wife of Stan Smetana of Lethbridge, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the age of 76 years. She is also lovingly remembered by her daughter Monika Smetana and grandson Tristan Smetana, her sister Hilda Svecova and numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her parents Johana and Jan, her brother Jan and sisters Olga and Elena. Maria Vera Polesenska was born on January 22, 1938 in Vrbove, Slovakia to parents Jan Polesensky and Johana Hanicova.

MARIAN BANAS passed away in Lethbridge Regional Hospital on May 30th 2014 following a brief and unexpected occurrence of cancer at the age of 72. Marian was a creative practitioner of the visual arts whose innumerable glassworks, paintings, and engravings consistently garnered praise and admiration. Her artistic skills were surpassed only by her kindness and generosity towards others. She is survived by her two sons Douglas Banas of Ladysmith BC, Vincent Banas, his wife Beth and three loving grandchildren Eve, Emma and Nathaniel all of Livermore, California.

Marian is survived by her children, Steven (Karen), Paul (Louise) and Judi (Richard); grandchildren Sean, Mandy, Andy, Janelle, Jamie, Nicholas, and Peter; great grandchildren Adrian and Logan. She has one sister, Lide who resides in the Netherlands. Marian was born in Indonesia and spent 5 years of her childhood in a concentration camp during the war. When the war ended, with the aid of the Red Cross, the family made their way over to the Netherlands.

MARIANNA HELENA KAPALKA, (nee Krysa) beloved wife of the late John Kapalka, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, August 12th, 2013 at the age of 61 years. She is survived by her 3 brothers and 1 sister - brother, Alex (Eva) Krysa - children Slawek Krysa (Darnell), Andre & Edyta Fraczek (Christopher & Sebastian); sister, Stania (Jerry) Slomkowski - children Beata (Travis) North (Kasha & Michael); Derek (Tara) Slomkowski (Jordan & Jillian); brother, Charlie (Rosemarie) Krysa - children Laura (Junior) Olivier (Wyatt & Tianna) and Cheryl Krysa (Josh Boyer); brother Mike (Maria) Krysa - children Helena (Jason) Eremenko (Adriana & Cain) and Adam (Megan) Krysa (Ben & Zander).

MARIANNE VARE, beloved wife and soulmate of Dale Vare, passed away at the Cardston Hospital on Monday, October 1, 2007 at the age of 45 years. She is survived by two daughters, Amanda Slywka of Lethbridge and Amy Slywka of Coalhurst; two grandchildren Carter and Emily. She is also survived by her mother, Edeltraut Schwarz of Coalhurst, two sisters, Margaret (Norman) Bota of Red Deer and Marilyn Blaine of Las Vegas, one brother David (Theresa) Schwarz of Lethbridge, as well as her numerous nieces and nephews.

MRS. MARIE WEHLAGE, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the age of 98 years. She is the loving mother of Cecile (Bernard) Poelzer of Milk River, grandchildren; Marie (Chad) Ormston of Lethbridge, Kathleen (James) Carlin of Calgary and great grandson Anthony Carlin of Calgary. She is also survived by brother-in-law Elmer (Marjorie) Wehlage. Marie was predeceased by her husband Arthur Wehlage, son Mark Wehlage, Parents Ferdinand and Angela Stelten, siblings; Olive (Albert), Ed (Lillian), Clarence, Martin, Ted, brothers-in-law; Albert (Olive), Ben, Ed (Yvonne), sisters-in-law Louise and Hilda (Francis).

MARIE (Agnes Marie) ELL, beloved wife of Martin Ell of Lethbridge, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 6th, 2008 at the age of 85 years. Besides her loving husband, Marie is survived by her daughter Glenna Ell, son Dennis (Dianne) Ell, granddaughter Sue (Mike) Medhurst and great-grandchildren Zachary and Genevi?? Marie (her namesake) all of Lethbridge, Alberta. She is also survived by a cousin, Mrs. Catherine (Kay) Dwyer of Arlington, Massachusetts.

MS. MARIE KUZMINSKI of Gibson’s Landing,Vancouver, BC, beloved daughter of Ted and Janina Kuzminski, passed away at home in BC on Saturday, December 5, 2009 of terminal Cancer at the age of 53 years. Marie is survived by her parents Ted and Janina; sister Helena Vedres (Mark Long); niece Fayla Vedres all of Lethbridge; brother Mike (Kristen) Kuzminski; nephew Jacek Kuzminski recently of Vancouver, BC; brother Ted (Tina) Kuzminski; niece Romney Kuzminski of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

MRS. MARIE LOUISE McTIGHE, beloved wife of Mr. Larry McTighe, of Lethbridge, AB., passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 3rd, 2013 at the age of 69 years.
