FRANCINA MARIA ‘INA’ SPAN, beloved wife of Robert B. Span of Lethbridge, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 6, 2008 at the age of 75 years. Besides her loving husband of 56 years, Francina is survived by her children; Netty (Fred) Tolsma of St. Albert; George Span of Lethbridge; Sadie (George) Tolsma of St. Albert; Fran Ovis of St. Albert; Arlene (Allan) Miedema of Kelowna; Anita (Doug) Tolsma of St.
It is with sadness we announce the passing of MRS. INGRID FUNK, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on September 1, 2013 at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her sister Helene, her children Kathryn, Harvey (Connie), Pat, Debby (Paul), Marilyn (Joe), and Doug (Suzanne) and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Her grandchildren Alex, Jack, Jessie, Sam, Nicole, Johanna, Leanna, and Jillian brought her great joy and laughter.
VERNE BRUCE, born July 7, 1952, is predeceased by sister Maureen, brother Roy Insley, his parents Ruby and Wilf Insley. Verne was born in Guelph, Ontario, later moving to Alberta in 1981. He worked for various paving companies with his last employer being McNally Contractors. Verne had been ill for the last few years and passed away from Cancer May 3, 2012 at the Fort Macleod Extendicare. He leaves to mourn, his four sons, Wade (Brandy), Clint (Jay), Matthew, Nick Hamling, and one daughter Anita Insley.
MR. IRA MACDONALD passed away peacefully on June 30, 2008 at the Raymond General Hospital. He was a great dad and grandpa and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Ira was born in Stellarton, Nova Scotia on February 7, 1929. He and his 12 siblings were raised during the great depression. In his younger years, Ira traveled extensively throughout the world as a merchant sailor. While in his twenties he worked on many major construction projects in Western Canada such as the Hart Highway, the Hudson Hope and Mica Hydro Dams.
IRENE Charlotte Harper, came into this world on December 20th, 1915, and left our lives quickly but peacefully on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013 at the tender age of 97. Left to cherish memories of her smile, wit and charm is her niece, Mrs. Iona Scheu of Edmonton, whom Irene loved as her own daughter, her friends and “adopted kids”, Jackie and Sam and of course Marilyn (Terri/Sherri), and “her girls” at Golden Acres Lodge.

In all Thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct Thy paths.’ Proverbs 3:5-6 IRENE FROUWS (nee Nagy), beloved wife of John Frouws, passed away peacefully at the St. Michael’s Health Centre on Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Irene was born at home in Diamond City on August 17, 1916. After completing a hair dressing course, Irene had a wide range of customers, including the ‘madams’ of Lethbridge’s red light district.
MRS. IRENE FLORA ALICE HALL, beloved wife of the late Mr. William Hall, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, January 18, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Irene will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her 3 daughters, 4 grandsons and 5 great grandchildren. A Private Family Service was held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME.
MRS. IRENE JOAN PONECH, lovingly cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother and beloved wife of the late Mr. Theodore Ponech, passed away at the Good Samaritans Society, Magrath on Friday, December 28, 2007 at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her children Joanne Jackson, Tom (Rose) Ponech and Wendy (Ron) Hammerback, grandchildren; Chad (Loretta) Jackson, Janay Jackson, Brad (Deanna) Hammerback, Kristy (Trent) Cherpin, Thomas Ponech and Matthew Ponech and great grandchildren; Ethan, Aaliyah and Silas Jackson, Cooper Cherpin and Mason Hammerback.
MRS. IRENE ROSE TODD, beloved wife of the late Jack Todd, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Irene is survived by her children: Raymond (Gnoc) Todd of Calgary, Wendy Hacker, Brent (Heather) Todd, Colin (Alice) Todd and Arlene Stroeve all of Lethbridge, as well as Trevor (Jennifer) Todd of Harrison Hot Springs, B.C. She is also survived by 18 Grandchildren, 38 Great -Grandchildren and 1 Great - Great Grandchild.
MRS. IRENE RUTH “PAT” MEHALKO, beloved wife of the late Mr. George Mehalko, of Lethbridge, passed away on Thursday, February 7th, 2013 at St. Michael’s Health Centre at the age of 87 years. Pat is lovingly remembered by her son Donald (Jackie) of Lethbridge and daughter Gwen (Don) Baker of Coaldale, four grandchildren; Jason (Marcie) of Bakersfield, CA, Brad (Jennifer) of Calgary, Robbie (Darryl) Moore of Lethbridge, Jaime (Chris) Clawson of Lethbridge and four great-granddaughters; Jasmine and Katlin Mehalko of Bakersfield, CA and Ellie and Emi Clawson of Lethbridge.
