1934 - 2014 ANNA HOOGERDIJK (nee Jongs), beloved wife of Herman Hoogerdijk of Lethbridge, was called home by our Lord and Saviour on Saturday, January 18, 2014. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Herman Hoogerdijk and their children Marj (Kelvin) Van Dasselaar, Martin Hoogerdijk, James (Marlene) Hoogerdijk, Herman Hoogerdijk (Teri Holmberg), 10 grandchildren and their spouses and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Marty Hoogerdijk, Barbara VanDenBos (Mike), Nick Jongs (Jane), William Jongs (Ann), Carel Jongs (Lynda), Mary Groeneveld (Simon), Margaret McDonald (Phil) and Hennie Jongs.

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” The Lord took to Himself into eternal rest Dirk Hoogerdyk on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 after a brief illness. Dirk was born June 6, 1940 in Delft, the Netherlands as fifth son to Maarten and Marrigje Hoogerdyk. The family immigrated to Canada and arrived in Lethbridge on May 15, 1952.

HOOPER, HOWARD STANLEY

HOWARD “STAN” STANLEY HOOPER, beloved husband of Elizabeth Hooper, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the age of 79 years. He is the loving father of Debra (Bill) Glaister, of Lethbridge, Joanne (Vance) Hooper, of Switzerland, and Bryan Hooper, of Calgary. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Stan was predeceased by his parents Galen and Elizabeth Hooper, his brother David and son Bradley.

Mr. William L. (Bill) Hooper, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Marjorie Hooper of Lethbridge, passed peacefully home to his Lord and Saviour at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care on Tuesday August 28th, 2012 at the age of 92 years. He was predeceased by his wife Marge in 2006, parents Henry and Lennie Hooper, brother Jim and his wife Mary, and sister Eveline Quantz and her husband Les. Bill is survived by his sons Brian (Grace) of Calgary, Wayne (Debbie) of Lumsden, Saskatchewan, and Kevin (Lynette) of Airdrie as well as six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

WILLIAM (BILL) GEORGE NELSON HOOPER of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Patricia (Pat) Hooper, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Besides his loving wife of 53 years, Bill will be sadly missed by his children; Brad (Melissa), Greg (Carol) and their children Lauren and Nicolette; Russ (Lisa) and their children Brayden, Megan and Austin; Deb and her children Jay and Kaleigh.

Jim leaves his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara, his children; Bruce & Debbie Hopkins of Barons, AB, Cheri & Bob Dickhaut of Claresholm, AB, Vicki & Dave Bruner of Lethbridge, AB and Darin Hopkins of Calgary, AB, grandchildren; Kelly & Colin Thiessen of Blackfalds, AB, Echo & Ivan Reimer of Grande Prairie, AB, Cheyenne Hopkins & Craig Ambler of Lethbridge, AB, Makayla Biddlecombe of Lethbridge, AB and Kaden Biddlecombe of Lethbridge, AB, great grandchildren Kail & Logan Reimer, Peyton Thiessen and Jace Ambler, brother Nick & Yvonne Hopkins of Sundre, AB along with uncle Jack of Yuma, AZ and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.

MRS. ELIZABETH “ELLY” HOPMAN, beloved wife of Mr. Gerald “Gerry” Hopman, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the age of 73 years. Elly is survived by her husband Gerry, her sons Gary (Debbie) Hopman of Lethbridge and Gerry Hopman of Calgary as well as grandchildren; Jordan Stewart, Kailey, Jarett and Taylor Hopman. She is also survived by her 5 brothers; Matt Simons, Frank (Gladys) Simons, Pierre (Mary-Lou) Simons, Charlie (Judy) Simons and Willie (Antoinette) Simons as well as two sisters in law; Tina Simons of Lethbridge and Johanna Simons of Calgary; along with numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, MRS. JANICE EDITH HOPP, at the age of 73 years, beloved wife of John Grant Hopp of Lethbridge. Born on March 17, 1942, Janice was raised and educated in Lethbridge, where she graduated from the Galt School of Nursing in 1963. She was married to Grant on November 2nd of the same year. Janice was employed as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, working in the Municipal Hospital and later moving to the new Lethbridge Regional Hospital where she worked until her retirement.

MRS. ESTHER HOUSTON BODELL HORN, of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Melvin Horn, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, May 21, 2010 at the age of 89 years. She is survived by three children; Dan (Marilyn) Bodell of Lethbridge, Lois (John) Jardine of Lethbridge and Sharon (Ray) Baker of Calgary; 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by one sister, Barbara Suffisick; Esther was predeceased by her mother, Florence Houston, son, Dale Bodell; 2 brothers, Herbert and Jack Houston, and by one great-grandson Garrett Jardine.

HORNER TIM HORNER, beloved husband of Gail Horner of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, November 1, 2010, at the age of 59 years. Besides his loving wife Gail, Tim is survived by his children Ian and Todd Horner, and parents Alf and Coral Horner. Tim was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend to many. His memory will be cherished and survive through the lives of all those he touched.
