LEE TUCKER

Lamarr ‘Lee’ Tucker passed away August 9, 2008 at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit after a courageous battle with cancer. Lee is survived by his wife Grace, 3 children, son Tim (Alison) of Taylor BC, daughter Starr (Rick) Davies, daughter Tam Tucker (Mike Calvert). He was the proud Grandpa of Taylor Davies and friend Rosalie, Laura Heptonstall (Steve), Angela Tucker, and his first great grandbaby, Kamryn Grace Heptonstall. Lee was predeceased by his Mother, Catherine Tucker (nee Webber), and his brothers Frank and Harold. Lee schooled in Dunmore, Alberta and worked at the Caven Ranch there at a young age. He then worked for his Uncle Frank Webber, building roads in the Cyprus Hill area in the 1940’s moving on to the Wartimer Ranch, also known as Browers Ranch, then carrying on to the Ross Ranch as a ranch hand. In 1950, Lee went to northern BC and worked in the oil fields. In 1953, Lee returned to Alberta and married Grace (Traxler) of Etzikom, AB. He joined up with the Alberta Wheat Pool in 1954 until starting Lee Tucker Cattle Company as an order buyer right up to his passing. Lee loved the cattle business and made many good friends throughout his life, however, Lee’s greatest joy was his family. He will be missed dearly by all of us and remembered forever. A celebration of his life will be held at the CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1K 7B1, Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Lois Punton officiating. Donations may be made in Lee’s memory to the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre.
