Laverne "Vern" Harry Reptke

Vern was born in Kitchener, Ontario to Lydia and Irvin Reptke. He had four siblings Doris (Elmer Weiland), Pearl (Joseph Brown), Elmer and Marjorie (Gordon Hannis).

Vern is survived by children Kevin, Kim (Craig), and Shane, grandchildren Richard (Kyla) and Tayler (Darby) and three great-grandchildren.

Vern’s adventurous spirit took him to live in many different cities over his lifetime and explore several different career paths. In his later years, he moved into supported care at Blue Sky Lodge in Lethbridge and when he needed more assistance Vern moved to St. Therese Villa. Vern enjoyed socializing, watching old movies, listening to music and reading his bible. He kept a tin on his table filled with Werther Candies that brought him great joy to share with others.

Vern’s family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of St. Therese Villa, as well as the doctors, nurses, and various home care professionals, who cared for Vern over the last few years.

Cremation has been entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home. As per Vern’s wishes, there will be no funeral service held. A Private Family Service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge, Alberta.
