LAURENCE LUTWICK

DR. LAURENCE EVERETT LUTWICK, beloved husband of Mildred ‘Millie’ Lutwick of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at the age of 86 years. Besides Millie, he is survived by his children; Gerald Lutwick of Lethbridge, Janice Pawlak of Lethbridge, Blaine (Marilyn) Lutwick of Bentley, Richard (Susan) Lutwick of Lethbridge, Myrna (Al) Doktorchik of Drumheller and Carol (Jake) Kuyten of Calgary as well as 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son James Laurence in 1951. Larry grew up on the family farm in Macadam, New Brunswick. After serving in the Royal Canadian Navy, Larry attended McGill University and the University of Saskatchewan, graduating with a PhD in soil science. While at McGill, Larry met his sweetheart Millie and they were married on May 8, 1948. A career with Agriculture Canada took the family to Vauxhall in 1956 and Lethbridge in 1959. Retiring in 1979, Larry and Millie moved to Powell River, B.C. where they lived until 2002 before returning to Lethbridge. ‘Mr. Wonderful’ will be remembered for his captivating sense of humour and his winning personality. His loving wife and 7 children were always first and foremost in his life. A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317-10th Street South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2M7 or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #207, 542 - 7th Street South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2H1.
