LASTUKA, MARGARET WATSON BLACKLOCK GOGAN

MARGARET LASTUKA born January 3, 1916 to Mary and Jacques Gogan, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and one brother. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Fred Lastuka, her sons Jim (Doris), Brian (Pamela) and Rick (Christa). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Margaret’s great passion was her family and she was so very proud of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret’s second passion was her garden and as soon as spring began you would usually find her with dirt on her knees and on her hands as she tended her flowers. She was a member of the Lethbridge Horticultural Society and a long standing member of the Kinette Club. For many years Margaret and her husband Fred enjoyed spending the Canadian winters in Hemet, California. She and Fred also loved taking cross country bus tours and cruises. When they got too old for travelling they loved nothing better than going for a long drive in the countryside. Margaret loved to cook, can, pickle and bake. Anytime a person visited, they were usually sent home with canned preserves, her famous pickles, or baked goods.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother but most of all she was a friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, but she will never be forgotten.

Cremation with a private interment at a later date.

The time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you I loved you so ’twas Heaven here with you.
