It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of MARGARET LANGENBERG, our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, friend and beloved wife of the late Bart Langenberg. She passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the age of 94 years.
She is survived by her children: Kathy (Gerry) Villeneuve, Ted (Yari) Langenberg, Trudy (Craig) Slawson, Maria (Charles) Thacker, Maggi (Art) Larson, Marcell (Deana) Langenberg and Shirley (John) Thiel as well as 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Margaret immigrated to Canada from The Netherlands as a young bride in the early fifties. While raising a family that grew to seven children, she and our dad started their optical business where she continued to work until she was 90!
Her family was her pride and joy. She especially loved Sundays, when we would all come to her house for coffee and snacks.
We will miss her beautiful big smile and bear hugs!
We would especially like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff on Unit 3C for their professionalism and humanity in the midst of the chaos. They always treated her with kindness and dignity. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (hsf.donorportal.ca) or to Streets Alive (streetsalive.ca/donate/).
A private family service will be held at a later date.
