JOSEPHINE KROKOSH died June 17th with her loving husband Fred holding her hand. Josephine is survived by her sons Gregory (Christine), Geoffrey ( Monique), and Rodney; and her daughter Brenda. She is also survived by her grandchildren Angela (Matt), Nicholas, Michael, Joanna, and Jillian and one great grandchild Zachary. She is also survived by her mother Anna Kambeitz, her brothers George (Phyllis) Kambeitz and Leonard (Elvena) Kambeitz, her sister Shirley Whitney and her sister-in-law Eileen Kambeitz as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her infant daughter Joanne Krokosh, her father Benedict Kambeitz, her brother Anthony Kambeitz, her sister-in-law Gladys Kush, and her nephew Kent Whitney. Josephine was born May 21st, 1934 in Bow Island and grew up in Grassy Lake. She had many fond memories of the farm and visiting her aunties and uncles and cousins. She married Fred Krokosh in 1955 and they settled first in Vauxhall, then in Hays. Fred’s business took them to Lethbridge. Fred and Josephine both started out as teachers and then both worked at the family business, Bridge Farm Centre. Josephine was a member of the CWL, served on the St Michaels Hospital Board, and the University of Lethbridge Senate. Josephine was a kind and generous women. All who knew her thought the world of her. She was a real sweetheart. She was a hard worker and didn’t let any obstacles get in her way. She overcame many health issues throughout her life. Throughout it all she remained very stoic and kept going even when others wanted her to slow down and rest. Josephine loved life and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved them very much and they knew it. She will be greatly missed. Relatives and Friends are invited to a Prayer Service at ST. MARTHA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Boulevard West, Lethbridge on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. MARTHA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Fernando Genogaling, Celebrant.
