FRED KROKOSH died March 1st at the age of 82. His precious wife Josephine passed away eight months earlier and although he will be dearly missed by his family, he was ready to go home to her.
Fred is survived by his sons Gregory (Christine), Geoffrey (Monique), Rodney, and his daughter Brenda. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Angela (Matt), Nicholas, Michael, Joanna, and Jillian and one great-grandchild, Zachary. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Anna Kambeitz and brother-in-laws George (Phyllis) Kambeitz and Leonard (Elvena) Kambeitz, his sister-in-laws Shirley Whitney and Eileen Kambeitz, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his adored wife, Josephine Krokosh, their infant daughter Joanne Krokosh, his parents Nick and Sofia Krokosh, his infant brother Edward Krokosh and his sister Gladys Kush. Fred was born September 13, 1929 in Vauxhall, Alberta. He was always a farm boy at heart. Fred married Josephine Krokosh in 1955 and they settled first in Vauxhall and then moved to Hays. Fred became a businessman running the school buses and the gas station. His business took them to Lethbridge. Both Fred and Josephine started out as school teachers but both chose to work at the family business, Bridge Farm Centre. Fred was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years and was a regular at El Rancho’s coffee row. Fred was a loving husband and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to hear of their adventures and offer advice. He was good with advice. His insights will be missed. A Prayer Service will be held at ST. MARTHA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Blvd. West, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. MARTHA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Fernando Genogaling officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
