LILLIAN MAY (KOSHNEY) PETERS passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Monday, September 24th, 2018, at the age of 92.
There's no greater love
Like the love of a mother.
Lillian was born on August 12th, 1926, along with her twin brother, James Wesley in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. For Mom's entire life she referred to Gull Lake as home. She had such fond memories of growing up on the farm, so fulfilled with the love of her many cousins. Mom married our dad Alphonse Richard Koshney, together they raised their five children, until the passing of our dad in 1965. In 1969 mom married Al Peters. Mom devoted her life with all her love to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mom fought a hard battle to stay with us. Loving her for eternity she leaves her children, son, Rick Koshney (Sharon), grandchildren Jade (Kris) Dylan, Jenna and Max; her daughter Sheila Ito (Ron), grandchildren Mark (Robyn), Ryan (Karen), Brandy (Lorin); her daughter Laurie Harrington (Bob), grandson Wesley; (Christina), granddaughters (Sherry's daughters) Melissa Gillespie (Rich), Melanie Peterson (Eric). Mom also leaves many great-grandchildren, who she so adored.
Mom was predeceased by her twin brother James, her parents Thomas and Anna Wannamaker, two children, her oldest daughter Sherry and her youngest son Randy, as well as her grandchildren, Shane Koshney and Robin Harrington.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank her many friends & cousins who blessed her life along her journey. Her home-care providers, so many of you she considered Friends. All of you from Nord-Bridge Senior Centre, friends & staff. Mom enjoyed Friday's lunch and Bingo, and Monday's Outreach. Thank you to all of her health care providers, doctors, nurses, her denturist Dr. Hosack, who did his best for us and her. Sincerely, Rick, Sheila, Laurie, and families.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 - Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Saturday, October 6th at 11:00 A.M., with Reverend Erin Phillips officiating. A time of fellowship & refreshments will follow. At a later date, Mom will take her final journey back home for interment.
