EUGENE KORNELSON, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Carol Kornelson, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at the age of 71 years.

EUGENE "GENO" FRANCIS KORNELSON of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Carol Kornelson, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the age of 71 years.

Besides his loving wife Carol, Gene is survived by his loving children, Lindsay and Scott (Lindsay). He is also survived by his granddaughters, Jada and Gianna, and grandsons, Brody and Jasper.

Gene was born in Abbotsford, BC, and the family later moved to the farming community of Bassano, Alberta. He joined the Lethbridge City Police Department in 1975, retiring in 2001. He then started a new career selling farm equipment for John Deere and New Holland, developing many new and joyous friendships.

Gene had a tremendous love for his family and friends, had a great sense of humour and enjoyed telling jokes. He also enjoyed travelling over the years.

Gene filled our hearts with much enjoyment and fun. He was a wonderful husband, life partner and father who took great pride in his children and grandchildren.

Gene will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Gene's life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME - 2825 32^nd Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta - on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 2:00 PM.

In Gene's memory, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca).

Geno was my dear friend, my buddy, and my brother in arms. Gene had a wonderful sense of humor that helped me get through many tough experiences during the policing career that we were both shared. I will miss Gene a lot. Geno will always be in my heart and he will always be in my mind and he will "never be forgotten". My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Carol and to the family.
