BERNHARD "BARNY" KNELSEN, of Lethbridge, passed away with his family at his side on Saturday, January 29th, 2022, at the age of 72 years.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 49 years, Helgrid; one son, Tim (Rachael) Knelsen of Vancouver, B.C.; daughters, Terri (Scott) Copeland of Lethbridge, Alberta, Tania (Jeff) Hastings of Dallas, Texas, Tiffany (Bryce) Weisgerber of Medicine Hat, Alberta; 13 grandchildren, Hannah (Devin) Widmer, Erikah (Brayden) Widmer, Olivia Burrows, Caiden Copeland, Cameron Hastings, Cailee Hastings, Jenna (Tony) Baker, Juliette Knelsen, James Knelsen, Jensen Weisgerber, Ellie Weisgerber, Kooper Weisgerber, and "Baby" Weisgerber; four great-grandchildren, Chelsea Palmer, Conner Palmer, Freya Forester, and "Baby" Widmer.
Barny & Helgrid were married on August 11, 1973. His love of life & people touched the lives of all those who knew him. His quiet courage, strength of spirit, creativity and sense of humor will be carried forward by those who knew and loved him. Barny wrote a series of eight controversial books about theology, religion, and spirituality. He has engineered and manufactured nearly 100 inventions which includes board games, agricultural cultivators & seeders, hydraulic drill trucks, equipment attachments & implements, and numerous trailers.
In memory of Barny, contributions would be appreciated to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
