MR. HORST KERBER, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Anne Kerber, passed away suddenly in Shaughnessy on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the age of 79 years. Horst and Anne immigrated to Canada in 1954 settling in the Shaughnessy area where he resided until his passing. When he first arrived in Canada, Horst worked in the mining, farming and construction industries. Then in 1966 he began working for Nord Precast (Int.) where he remained until his retirement in January 1996. Afterword, he jokingly stated that he was now working for the government. In his spare time he loved gardening and his pets. Horst is survived by his children; Alfred (Shannon) Kerber of Shaughnessy, Christel Rook (Jim) of Shaughnessy and Monica (Ed) Warbrick of Lethbridge, grandchildren; Jason Passey (Jason Koch), Daniel (Cortni) Rook, Chad (Chloe) Rook, Tyler (Amie) Rook, Jessie Kerber and Justin Kerber and great-grandchildren; Quinton, Ashton, Brody and Hailey. He is also survived by his brothers and sister-in-law; Heinz (Margaret) Kerber, Walter Kerber and Lotte (Werner) Pietschmann as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Horst was predeceased by his wife Anne, parents and in Germany, brother Alfred. A private family service will be held at a later date.
