Ken was a licensed auto mechanic, and his passion was working on all kinds of vehicles. He owned & drove several antiques (1929 Chevy half-ton, 1964 Meteor, 1967 Chevy Camaro). Ken went on to earn a Bachelor of Education degree to teach mechanics, which he did for a few years, but his love of repairing & working on vehicles had him returning to twisting wrenches again. He ran his own business (Ken’s Automotive) for 25 years & in retirement continued to work on vehicles.
Ken enjoyed camping with his family & spent many an enjoyable holiday camping throughout Alberta & B.C. He also spent many evenings playing cards & board games when family & friends came over with music from the ‘50’s & ‘60’s playing softly in the background.
Ken leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Sally, children, Trevor (Ashley), Theresa, Jason, and his grandson Noah, whom he adored & loved playing with. He also leaves behind his siblings: Eugene (Eileen), Anne (Al), Terry (Barb), Jim (Sandi), Laurel, along with all of Sally’s siblings and many nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
Along with his parents, Ken was predeceased by his sister and her husband, Darlene and Bob, parents-in-law Arnold and Diane Ray, sister-in-law Wendy and niece Diane.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Centre, or a charity of your choice.
