It is with heavy hearts that our family inform our relatives and friends that PETER (PIEBE) KEMPENAAR passed away peacefully after a brief illness.

Besides his loving wife, Carol, of 56 years, he is survived by his two children Robert (Lorelei) and Shelley (Paul), his two grandchildren, Spencer (Sam) and Blake (Kiara) and his only great-grandson, Kaysen. Pete's grandsons were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his four siblings, Ann, Jane, Sadie and Ben and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pete will always be remembered for living his life the way he wanted and was his own boss, he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and had a heart of gold. He was truly one of a kind. He will be forever loved and greatly missed by all.

Peter's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at CRHA that helped out Dad during his recent illness. Your care, concern and compassion for Dad and our family are greatly appreciated. Also, a special thank you to all our family, friends and Cornerstone Funeral Home for your support and thoughtfulness during this difficult time.

At Peter's request, no funeral service was held.

My condolences Carol, and family, for your loss. Take care of yourselves and cherish your memories of Pete as husband, father, and friend.

My Dearest Carol, I was saddened to learn that your beloved Peter passed. So very hard after 56 years together. I know your Husband was a devoted family man & provider & a good friend to many. My heart goes out to you all. Sadly grief is the price of love. God bless your Dear Family & bring you peace at this most difficult of times. I love the beautiful photo you chose of Peter & his old friend. Warm hugs & love, Ellen

I knew Peter from Bullys. He came in for breakfast and coffee every Wednesday with his friends and sisters and always had a cut chat with me before he left. He told me he would teach me how to drive the big truck if I wanted to learn. He said it was easier than I thought it might be. He also made it much easier for me when we had to put our 14 year old pug down. Bless his heart. I will miss your great advice Peter. My thoughts are with you Carol.

Uncle Pete, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that you are gone. No more stopping by the house looking for Dad, no more quick chats, no more laughs. Rest easy, you have certainly earned it.
