SANDRA KARREN'S heart came to rest on Tuesday, December 27th, 2016 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend, Barry Karren of Picture Butte, and leaves behind their 3 daughters: Leslie Karren, Tarri (Stuart) Crothers, and Shellie (Stefan) Kienzle; and 3 grandsons: Matthew, David and Oliver.
SANDRA KARREN'S heart came to rest on Tuesday, December 27th, 2016 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend, Barry Karren of Picture Butte, and leaves behind their 3 daughters: Leslie Karren, Tarri (Stuart) Crothers, and Shellie (Stefan) Kienzle; and 3 grandsons: Matthew, David and Oliver.
Mom was a "big city girl" who married a "small town boy" in the late '50s. Together they travelled to and lived in many far-flung places, where Mom always established a warm home for her family and was famous for her improvised "gourmet delights". In her younger years she was very spontaneous and adventurous; so in her senior years she just wanted to relax and take life easy in Picture Butte and finally at Black Rock Terrace. Mom liked to wear colourful clothes and funky shoes. She was artistic, poetic, funny and was an always enthusiastic, but terrible, singer.
Dearest Mom, it lifts our hearts that your spirit will always be felt in the sunflowers and bright yellow daisies you so enjoyed.
At Sandra's request, no formal funeral service will be held.

Sandra was a very special friend and co-worker at the Picture Butte Pharmacy, She was one of a kind and will always be remembered with a smile.
I am so sorry to hear that. Your mom was a wonderful person. I have great memories of visiting with her in the kitchen in Malta. I lost my mom when I was living in Malta and still would love to have just one more conversation. Love to you.
I am very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I missed your Dad's funural because I was out of the country and now I will miss your Mom's funeral too because I live in Kelowna. I had a interesting bond with your parents. When I arrived in Malta I was pretty new to be away from home the first time. They took me under their arm and taught my to drink wine at Hunters Tower and supper meals at some pretty nice places. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your friend Eric One other important thing about you Dad...he was the best boss I have ever had. That says alot about him as a professional.

Our sympathy in the loss of Sandra. We enjoyed knowing her, she had such a zest for life and was fun to be with. She was a favorite with the pharmacy customers-especially the men!
To my wonderful mom. You'll be missed more than words could ever express. I don't know how I'm going to face not hearing your voice every Sunday morning. Shellie, we all met at the hospital. My mom had the pleasure of having Sandra as a roommate first on 4 then on 5. Your mom brought us such joy everytime we were there. We feel very honoured to have known Sandra. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.
