ETSUJIRO "JERRY" KAMEYAMA, beloved husband of Regina Kameyama, of Lethbridge, AB fought the brave battle of cancer. He succumbed in his sleep on June 10, 2016, with his family by his side. Along with his wife Regina, he is lovingly remembered by his children; Joanne (Curtis) Polec of Lethbridge, Janet (Jamie) Wakefield of Coaldale, Kenta (Megan) Kameyama of Lethbridge, his grandchildren Kai, Kaede, Emi and Maliya as well as his brothers and sisters and their families in Japan.
Jerry was predeceased by his father, Senji Kameyama and his mother Tsurumaki Hatsu of Niigata, Japan.
Jerry emigrated from Japan to Canada in 1974, where he met his wife Regina. He started up his own jewelry business, Guarantee Jewelry Limited, which he ran for 30 years before retiring in 2008. Jerry's quiet demeanor, head for business and creative eye drew people from all over to his successful jewelry shop. When he was not working, he enjoyed time with his family, especially on ski trips. Upon retirement, Jerry spent time with his grandchildren and helped his children with their house projects. In October, 2015 he was diagnosed with cancer and was truly resilient with all treatments until his passing. A special thanks to Dr. Elvira Smutz, Home Care and the Palliative Care Team at St. Michael's Health Center for their kindness and compassion.
A public Reception will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge AB on Thursday June 16, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
In memory of Jerry, donations can be made to the Jack Ady Cancer Center, 960 19 St South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 1W5.
