Julia was born on June 19, 1940 in Statesville, North Carolina to the late Raymond Eugene Reid and Edna Louise Coley Reid. Julia was the second daughter of five children. She is survived by her siblings Ruth, Earl, and Peggy. She was predeceased by her sister Kay.

Julia married the love of her life, Paul on December 16, 1960. They shared 61 beautiful years together before Paul’s passing in 2022. Their lives took them from North Carolina, to Canada with Paul’s military service in the early 60s. Upon Paul’s retirement from the Air Force, their travels moved them back to North Carolina, followed by Colorado, Texas, Wyoming and finally settling in Grande Prairie, Alberta in 1982.

Julia leaves to cherish her memory, their children, Larry Wayne (Mikal), Tim (Melony), Kimberly (Murray), Wendy (Rick), Wes (Karen), 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and numerous other family members in the United States.

Julia loved the outdoors, the mountains, camping, cooking and sharing the love of Jesus. Family was her greatest joy, especially the babies and children.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

You showed me what a sweet, caring and loving soul you are. I will never forget the kindness showed to me when you took me into your home and looked after me. May your kindness be repaid a thousand times. Blessings on you and your wonderful family ❤️

I met Julie and Paul as a child through their church and children in Glenrock, Wyoming. I went to school with their children, and was welcomed by their whole family into their place of worship as a child. I grew to be close friends with Kim, even as they moved from Wyoming to Canada. Since I was a child, I can always remember how strong an amazing Mr. and Mrs. Peacock were together. And so they are again in heaven. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. May the Lord bless you all. Mike Velasquez
