On Saturday, October 3, 2009 Joseph joined our Lord’s side in the glorious afterlife to be reunited with his beloved wife Dollie. JOSEPH RICHARD HACZKEWICZ was born on June 10, 1936 in Dobrowody, SK. “Joe” to his family and friends will be lovingly remembered as a man who loved his family, friends, church, baseball and Hawaii. Prior to his parting, he had planned his 40th trip to Hawaii for the New Year. He spent his childhood in Hudson Bay, SK., and as an adult lived in Saskatoon, SK. and Medicine Hat, AB., before finally calling Lethbridge home. Joe spent his entire career in grocery, retail and at the time of his passing was working at London Drugs. He was a hard working, generous and devoted person who always thought of the needs of others first. Joe enjoyed an active lifestyle that included watching baseball (both minor and major - reminiscing of his ball days), walking, reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family. Joe leaves us to join his daughter Heather Dawn Haczkewicz (in infancy), wife Dollie Haczkewicz, parents Stanley and Bernice Haczkewicz, brother Anthony Haczkewicz, sisters Mary Haczkewicz (in infancy), Isobel Casement and Debra Haczkewicz. His memories are left with his daughter Pamela (Perry) Wirth of Unity, SK., and her mother Joyce (Raymond) Green, grandchildren Ashley, Perry Jr. and Leevi; sisters Theresa Haczkewicz, Delores Haczkewicz, Florence Bergen and Wanda Burbeck; aunts Sr. Fulgentia and Sr. Cunegunde, special friend Marge Manderville, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A private Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Friday, October 9, 2009, with Canon Allan McCuaig officiating. In memory of Joseph, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB., T1J 4K7.
