Jon Newman passed away on August 8, 2008, at the age of 47 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Jeremy and Jodi, their mother Cathy, his mother June, sisters Ellen, Lori, brothers Randy, Roderick, and their families. He was predeceased by sister Lynda and brother Adrian. Jon was a kind-hearted and adventurous free-spirit who enjoyed nature and the outdoors, and valued time spent with friends and family. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. As per Jon’s wish friends are invited to gather to celebrate his life and share stories and memories, on Saturday, August 16, 2008, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Bo’diddly’s Pub & Grill, Lethbridge. Donations in Jon’s name may be made directly to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2, St. Michael’s Health Centre (Palliative Care Unit), 1400 9 Avenue South, Lethbridge, and the Lethbridge Shelter and Resource Centre, 802 2a Ave N, Lethbridge.
