NELS JOHNSON was called to the Lord on July 7, 2019, at the age of 96. He was born in Bow Island, AB on February 1, 1923. He lived in Skiff for a short time before the family moved to Consul, SK where he was raised on the family farm.

Nels was employed by the Canadian Pacific Railway in Frank, AB where he met Millie Galeoti, while she was employed at the Rex Caf?. They married in 1942 and moved to Blairmore, Alberta. During his time in Blairmore, he was employed in the coal mines and later worked for Philips Cable and Fording Coal.

He was predeceased by his wife Millie in 1992, his mother, father, two brothers and a sister.

Nels is survived by two children: Albert (Betty) Johnson of Coutts, AB and Beverley Rosia of Calgary; five grandchildren, Tammy Degenstein of Airdie, Jan (Tracy) Johnson of Coutts, Tony Rosia of Lethbridge, Loren Rosia of Calgary, and Lisa (Brett) Barrett of Calgary, seven great-grandchildren, Devan, Taia, Garrett, Gina, Jayda, Taylor and Sydney, and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Krog and staff as well as the staff at Prairie Rose Lodge and Milk River Extendicare for the special care and attention given to Nels.

There will be a private family funeral and interment in the Catholic cemetery in Blairmore, AB at a later date.
