It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of DANIEL R. JOHNSON, beloved husband of Janis Johnson, of Lethbridge, on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the age of 74 years.
Besides his loving wife Janis, Daniel will be remembered by his three children: Dona Johnson (Mark Tysowski) of Calgary, Chad (Anita) Johnson of Regina and Robert (Amy) Johnson of Regina; 19 grandchildren: Jack, Evan and Zoe Tysowski, Jessica (Josiah) Audette, Rebecca (Micaiah) Audette, Amanda, Julia, Erica, Maria, Daniel, Nathan, Joel and Johanna Johnson and Hannah, Emanuella, Eden, Laylah, Evangeline and Lydia Johnson; and three great-grandchildren: Chas, Raymond and Sabrina. He is also survived by his sister Eileen (Stan) Sundberg of Spearfish, South Dakota and Brian Johnson of Regina as well as several nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and more friends than we can mention.
Daniel was predeceased by his parents Sanford and Julia and brother Wesley.
Danny was born January 25, 1945 in Estevan, SK. He was raised on the family farm near Radville, SK. At the age of ten, his family moved to the current farm at Beaubier, SK, which he passionately took care of till the end.
Dan found Janis, the love of his life in 1966. It was clearly the most successful cold call of his life and he closed the deal in 1968. Dan went on to forge a very successful business and sales career, making so many friends along the way. He enjoyed playing sports, and cheered for the Yankees, Canadiens, and the Cowboys. But he cherished people the most; friends, family and especially all his grandchildren. But above all, he loved Jesus, his saviour, knowing with all certainty that he was going to meet Him and be reunited with his parents and little brother Wesley who he has waited so long to see.
A Funeral Service will be held at EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH OF LETHBRIDGE, 4717 - 24 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Dave Acree officiating. A Private family Interment will take place in Beaubier, SK at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Dan would want you to help a child in need or donate to a children's charity.

I enjoyed his company while being on the curling team with him at the Coaldale Men's League the last few years. I was amazed at how many people he knew. My deepest sympathy to his family.

So sorry to hear about Dan's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Treasure your memories.
We always enjoyed talking with Dan at our Pro-Ma conferences in Calgary. He was a good man. May our Father in Heaven grant you the peace and comfort you need at this time.
So sorry to read of Dan's passing Janis. I can still see clearly in my mind, you, Dan and your young family visiting your folks and attending church in Midale. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
My heart goes out to Jan & the entire family of this wonderful human being. I had the privilege of enjoying coffee(the best coffee apparently) and a visit with Dan at KDH Painting on a regular basis. He was a kind, compassionate man who always spoke of his family. He told stories of travelling with Donna & painting the big red barn on the farm with his grandsons. He also shared the story of his Mercedes and brought it by the office once. Pumpkin Head was another topic I enjoyed. We certainly shared the same sentiments on that subject :). The conversations we had about the business world were so inspiring to me. His experience, insight and values resonated with me as a woman working in business management. He was simply an amazing man and I am grateful to have known him and to call him my friend. You are missed Dan.
My Condolences to Danny's Family and many Friends

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Dan's passing.....we first met back around 1995 at the Turbo Service station we operated in Lethbridge....we connected with stories of our times in Regina...Dan a successful salesman and me doing the morning show and Flea Market on CKRM. We shared some laughs and serious times over the years and I for one will miss his laugh and stories......my sincere condolences to the Jan and all the kids.
My deepest condolences to Dan's family. I was lucky enough to meet Dan just a few short months ago, working a couple of doors down from his shop. He was one of the most outgoing, friendliest, people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He always stopped to chat and check to see how I was doing. Although my knowing him was only a short time, I will miss our chats together.
On behalf of the FP Canada Family I would like to express my sincere condolences on the passing of Dan. He was a great friend and collegue as we worked together on many mailing opportunities in Southern Alberta. Jan and family wishing you strength and courage at this time in your life. God Bless!
