JOHN STENGL

MR. JOHN STENGL, beloved husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Stengl, of Lethbridge passed away at the Good Samaritans, West Highlands Centre, on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the age of 86 years.

Besides his loving wife he is survived by: Dr. John F. (Tamara) Stengl of Lethbridge, Anna (Brian) Thompson of Medicine Hat, four grandchildren; Jennifer (Darryl) Klassen of Kelowna, B.C., John (Natalie) Gordon of Calgary, AB., Julie (Leason) Blenkin of Kelowna, B.C. and Krissy (Jay) Schenkey of Medicine Hat and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by family in Hungary.

He was predeceased by his parents; Joseph and Margaret. John was born August 23, 1923 in Hungary and immigrated to Canada in 1954. He has lived here ever since. He worked for the City of Lethbridge as an operator of construction equipment. In his retirement he spent countless hours making concrete statuaries that have been distributed across the western provinces. John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. John lived his life as in the words of the Frank Sinatra song, “I Did it My way”.

A private family and close friend Memorial Service will be held at GOOD SAMARITANS WEST HIGHLANDS, 2687 Garry Drive West, Lethbridge, AB., on Tuesday, October 27, 2009.

Flowers are gratefully declined.
