John was born April 25th, 1927 in Magrath, AB. At a relatively young age, John left school in order to support his family financially and aid in the return of his brother from war torn Europe. John began working for Alberta Transportation (Dept. of Highways) in 1962 and retired in 1996 as supervisor of the Magrath operations. He was a devoted Catholic and an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus (Council 1490).
John was mostly a homebody, caring for his apple trees, roses and tomatoes; however, he did thoroughly enjoy a trip that he took with his wife to eastern Canada and U.S.A.
