HAROLD ‘JOCK’ WHEELER MARSHMAN, beloved husband of Viola ‘Vi’, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Chinook Regional Hospital with his loving family at his side at the age of 86 years. Jock is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Viola, daughters Marilyn and Suzanne (Bud) Grouette, granddaughter Amanda and mother-in-law Mary Lebsack. He also leaves to mourn two sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews and a wealth of friends. Jock was born in Carmangay, Alberta on June 18, 1922 to Ed and Hilda Marshman and was the 2nd youngest of 7 siblings. He was predeceased by 3 brothers in infancy, brother William (Bud) and sister Ruth. Jock is survived by brother Bob of Champion. Jock was raised in Champion where he met and married his soul mate and best friend Viola Lebsack. Jock worked on several farms in the Champion district until moving to Nobleford in 1962 where he became a successful cattle buyer until his retirement in 1979. Jock and Vi moved to Lethbridge in 1979. They travelled extensively and enjoyed the special times as lifetime members of Norbridge Seniors Centre and Nobleford Seniors Centre. Jock enjoyed and participated in all sports and his proudest moments were watching his daughters participate in their respective sports. His bragging rights were saved for his precious granddaughter Amanda as the best in Tae Kwan Do, soccer, basketball and rugby. Papa and Nana never missed any games she was involved in. He will be missed dearly by all of us and lovingly remembered forever. A Celebration of Life will be held at the PARK MEADOWS BAPTIST CHURCH, 2011 - 15th Avenue North, Lethbridge on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Del Bertsch officiating. A private family interment will take place in Champion Cemetery at a later date. In memory of Jock, donations may be made to the Nobleford Seniors Centre, Norbridge Seniors Centre, 1904 - 13th Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB, T1H 4W9 or to a charity of one’s choice.
