JIM MCKENNA

JAMES ‘JIM’ MCKENNA beloved husband of the late Margaret McKenna of Lethbridge passed away at the Edith Cavell Centre on Friday, April 10, 2009 at the age of 90 years. He is survived by his sons Michael McKenna of Grande Prairie, AB and John McKenna of Lethbridge, AB. He was predeceased by Margaret McKenna, Judy McKenna and Peter McKenna. Jim was a veteran of World War 2 and upon returning from overseas he began his career with the Lethbridge Fire Department, where he worked for 38 years. He often talked about the changes and growth of the size of Lethbridge when he arrived back from overseas to the size it is today. In years past he was an avid hunter. His favorite outdoor activity was taking his family to the mountains of South Western Alberta where he enjoyed fishing and camping. A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 - 13th Street North on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Raul Hernadez celebrant. Inurnment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
