JACKSON WILLIAM (BILL) NORMAN JACKSON, beloved husband of Betty Jackson, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the age of 77 years. Besides his loving wife he is survived by his family, Dave (Sue Barnes) Jackson of Creston, BC, Brenda (Greg) Johnson of Taber, Brian (Judy) Jackson of Lethbridge, Beverly (Fred) Thomson of Coaldale, Gary (Melonie) Jackson of Lethbridge, Don (Kathy) Jackson of Edmonton and Kevin (Donette) Jackson of Calgary, 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Gordon (Doreen) Jackson, Don (Donna) Jackson, Harvey (Stella) Jackson, Audrey Sudiekat, Dennis (Judy) Jackson, Sharon (Henry) Senneker, and Doug Jackson. As well as Betty’s family, Kay Hartman, Ethel Perdue, Valerie Gal, Monica Rodzinyak, John (Marion) Rodzinyak, Muriel Rodzinyak and Pat Rodzinyak. Bill was predeceased by his parents Richard and Helen Jackson, his sister Arlene and her husband Tom Baldrey, and parents in law Margaret & George Rodzinyak, brothers in law, Tom Hartman, Rody Rodzinyak, Boomer Rodgers, Andy Rodzinyak and Jack Perdue. Bill Jackson, the third son of Richard and Helen Jackson, was born on January 24, 1934. Bill and the love of his life, Betty, were married on May 28, 1955 at St. Basil’s Church and raised seven children. He was a dedicated employee of McGavin’s Bakery until his retirement. Bill was an active member of the community, volunteering with the Lethbridge Hockey Hounds, the Knights of Columbus Council #1490 and the Father Lacombe Assembly as a 4th Degree Knight. Bill was an avid hockey and baseball player as a young man but more so enjoyed supporting and watching his children, then his grandchildren, in their various activities and sports. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him and will always be in our hearts. A Prayer Service will be held at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604-13 Street North, Lethbridge, on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CHURCH on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend John Kohler celebrant. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to a charity of your choice.
