With the greatest of sadness, we the family of Istvan ‘Steve’ Bari announce his passing. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 10, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Steve Bari is survived by his loving wife Irene of Lethbridge, son Steven (Kelly) Bari and their children Mercedes, Jordan and Austin, daughter Klara (Fred) Fomradas and their child, Nolan, as well as his sisters Irene and Barbara, and his brother Janos. Steve was predeceased by his parents Janos Bari and Borbala nee: Nagy of Szendro, Hungary. Born in Szendro, Borsod Megye, Hungary on November 13th 1926. Steve immigrated to Canada on the 7th of May in 1957 and was given Canadian citizenship in February of 1965. Steve has been a member of the Hungarian old timer’s society since 1957. Steve’s greatest joy was travelling with his family, from Hawaii all the way to Hungary on many consecutive occasions. He enjoyed watching his children grow into adults and celebrating with their families, enjoying visits with the grandchildren and hearing about their daily adventures. Steve’s passion in life was gardening; he had a big garden at his home which contained Hungarian Yellow Peppers that he was very proud of. He was also instrumental in designing, planting and maintaining the gardens in the courtyard of the Lethbridge Lodge. Funeral Service will be held at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow at the Mountain View Cemetery.
