MELVIN "MEL" DOUGLAS IRWIN, of Coaldale, beloved husband of Jean Irwin, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the age of 81 years. 

Besides his loving wife, Mel is survived by his loving daughter Jean (Glen) Mertz, his loving son Doug (Sherry) Irwin, his four loving grandchildren: Austin (Emily) Mertz, Mackenzie (Jesse Reams) Mertz, Jessie Irwin and Declan Irwin and three adoring great-grandchildren: Arlin Mertz, Miles Mertz and Matea Mertz. 

At Mel's request, no formal funeral service will be held. Cremation entrusted to Cornerstone. 

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Mel, donations may be made to the Coaldale Senior's Centre, 1806 - 21 Avenue, Coaldale, AB, T1M 1E9.
