Hurkens, Cornelius

CORNELIUS "COR" HURKENS, beloved husband of Lynn Hurkens, passed away from Lung Cancer at home on Sunday, May 26th, 2013 at the age of 73. He is survived by his children, Garry (Debra) and family Dani, Tyler and Michael, their mother Kyla, and Debra's son Evan; Roberts' family, Robert, Samantha and Tom (from Rob's first marriage), Cody, Steven, Ashley, Kristina, Logan and Kylee, their mother Kathy; Ken (Eunice) and their son Ryan; Lorri (Chad) and her family Ryan, Shawn, Amanda and their father Brian. He will also be missed by great-grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, Alyssa, Julian, Benjamin, Rook, Jon, Jada, Ashton, Kaydence and Trypp; siblings Hank (Carole), Gerdie (Jack), Rita, Toni (Adolf), Nellie (Steve), Lia (Albert) and Joey. He was predeceased by his brother Garry, sisters Francis, Gonda and Marie. Corny worked as a finishing carpenter in Lethbridge for many years as C. Hurkens Construction. He was a member of the Miners and the Legion. He loved his pets and leaves his little Lady to be with his little Penny. After retirement he and Lynn travelled south to stay near Yuma in their 5th-wheel. He loved camping and fishing in the summer at Beaver Mines and liked to watch poker, westerns and Judge Judy. He hated dandelions and worked hard to get rid of them. He was loved by many and will be missed. A Memorial Reception will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 - Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Thursday, May 30th, 2013 between 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
