With great sadness, we announce the passing of Mary Hranac, beloved wife of the late Fred Hranac.
Mary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, at the age of 89 years.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Bev (Darin) Hranac, Christine Ehnes, daughter-in-law Rita Hranac; grandchildren, Tyler (Courtney) Ehnes, Tennille Ehnes, Caitlyn (Chris) Stone, Shannon Stone, Nolan (Hayleigh) Hranac and Joel Hranac; great- grandchildren Briar and Briggs Ehnes.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Fred Hranac; sons Rick Hranac and Garry Hranac and her son-in-law Brian Ehnes, and her two brothers, Mike and George Hazuda.
Mary was born on September 2, 1932 in the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge. She grew up in the Readymade district and lived most of her life on the farm east of Coaldale. She and Fred retired to Lethbridge in 2004 where she resided until her passing.
Fred and Mary were married May 6th, 1953 and began their lives together on the farm where they raised their four children. Life on the farm was busy and involved maintaining a large yard with a beautiful garden, milking cows and raising chickens; but she always had time for a chat on the phone or a visit and cup of coffee for anyone who stopped by. She travelled to many places and was always ready for a grand adventure with friends and family. Mary loved driving and never feared the gravel roads or the occasional snow drift.
Once the kids were grown, Mary started a 17-year career at Sears, working in customer service. She loved being around people and was involved in many organizations including Readymade 50 Plus club, Revelers, Red Hatters and also served on her condo board.
Mary's love of life and people touched the lives of all those who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 9th at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge. Due to the current COVID situation, the service will be live-streamed. To access the live-stream, a link will be provided on Mary's obituary on Cornerstone's website.

Mary was such a beautiful, strong person who I admired. She walked through many tough things in life but kept the faith and continued to be strong and supportive to her family. She was also a wonderful neighbour to our family for so many years. She loved and supported my mom and dad so many times which I am grateful for. Growing up as a little girl I knew I was always welcome to come over and play. I also still hear her calling for the kids to come home and my mom would do the same. May the memories live on. She will be missed.
