It is with great sorrow and pain that we inform you of the passing of our mother, MARIE CAROLINE HOWG, on the 2nd of October 2020 in Lethbridge Alberta. Caroline passed away at home in her sleep with her daughter, Joanne M Hooper, by her side.

Caroline was born in Lethbridge, and was raised on her parent's farm in Enchant, AB. She graduated from high school at the Champion School in Champion, AB. She studied and received her Bachelor of Education degree, Bachelor of Arts in Education degree and a special diploma in Early Education Services from the University of Calgary. She received her first teaching assignment at age 19 in Carseland, AB. This was the first of 30+ years in her teaching career that she poured her heart and love into and helped countless students.

Caroline is the daughter of Emil Thorvald and Helga Mary (Lundby) Howg and is predeceased by her parents, brothers Eugene Leroy Howg and Milton Harvey Howg, son Bradley Wade Hooper, former spouse Howard Stanley Hooper, grandson Ryan Stanley Hooper, sisters-in-law Marlene (Rombough) Howg and Arlene (Baker) Howg.

She is survived by her: brother Norman Howg; children, Debra (Bill) Glaister, Joanne M Hooper, her devoted caregiver, and Bryan Hooper; grandchildren Bethany (Dustin) Mills, Graeme Glaister, Bailey (Brad) Kwiatkowski, Brady Hooper and Megan Hooper; great-grandchildren Ashton & Maison Hooper & their brother Athan, Peyton & Austin Mills, and Griffin & Sloane Kwiatkowski; many dear nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and cousins; former spouse Philip Wiest and her stepchildren Sandy Wiest, Beverley (Dale) Wickenheiser and Rob (Marlene) Wiest.

A Viewing was held on the 5th of October 2020 that was attended by family members. We will be organizing a get together at a later date to honour the love, passion and life of our mom Caroline.

She is sorely missed by her family and friends.

Joanne: I am so sorry for your loss, and I know how very well you cared for your mother. She was such a great person and I know she passed her good attitude on to you. You were the best daughter ever, and I know your mum passed away in such peace, because you were beside her. Very few of us could so do what you did so generously. Your dedication to your mother was pure love, and the world is a better place because of it.
